Change

Take a minute and think about everything in your life that has changed in the last 5 years? What about in the last year? Even since the start of this school year?

I would imagine your taste in music, tv, and movies is quite different than 5 years ago. Clothes, hairstyle, cars. Food, friends, relationships. I guess you get the picture that our lives constantly change. With that change comes new focus. Think really hard for just a second about all the things in your life that you claim you "love". How many of those things have changed?

Well I was thinking this week about God and how perfect His love is and how imperfect the way I love is. How stupid I feel about some of the things I have "loved" in the past. What wasted time....But God sees my imperfection and shows me a better way. Check out Micah 7:18, it says "because He delights in unchanging love". If that doesn't get you jacked nothing will. Basically as much as we mess up in love, we have an awesome God to show us the way. Because His love doesn't change, so much so that He delights in His love for us! As often as we fail, as often as we let Him down, He is still there shining through with unchanging LOVE. Now if you're looking for crazy, there it is.

More craziness to come!! Keep seeking Him and be on the lookout for how He shows us His perfect love.

Love?

Got this in an email good stuff to ponder on!!!

Can you help?  A friend is asking this question for a Valentine's dinner and asked me if I would ask you.  Thought this would be a sweet expression of love for us to share with eachother for Valentine's Day.  Please take a minute and let me know your love life with God:

1.  What helps you to experience God's love personally?

2.  What hinders the experience of His love?

God has so much more for our lived then to live funky or in a funk! its a daily battle to put on the armour peeps! Just know we are just human and we fail... but it's how we turn to God through our failures and deal with them that make us who we are!! LIVE LOUD, LIVE PROUD!!

What if Everything Was Gone?

What if you woke up one morning and everything you ever owned was gone? All you had was your faith and hope in Jesus Christ. Would you still be totally satisfied and complete?

Beautiful Feet

Probably one of my favorites by Lecrae. But also a verse that has been a little convicting for me. Paul quotes Isaiah in Romans 10:15 when he says "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!".

I've always heard this verse used to demonstrate the importance of global missions, but after listening to Lecrae's take on it, my eyes were opened. The truth is, we face lost people everyday in our own cities, neighborhoods, schools, and places of business. They're in the inner cities, homeless shelters and soup kitchens. They're standing on the corner waiting for a bus, or they might be the dude in front of you at the grocery store. We need to pray that God gives us eyes to see and ears to hear the way He does. Because "we have the truth that saves, so run and shout it to the world." What are we gonna do with it?

There is revival stirring. You can feel it, almost hear it buzzing in the air. God is doing something huge right now. It's time that we, the youth, rise up and start living it out. Taking the love that Christ has shown us out into a dying world. I once had a missionary tell me to not ask God if I should go, but if I shouldn't. As I thought about that, God's Word began ringing in my head. "GO"! It's that simple. Jesus shared that with His disciples, and it's for us as well. Now the question is, are you?

BOLD!

God is good fam! i'm reading the book of acts, because i was just wondering what in the world the disciples did after homeboy Jesus you know died to save the world then conquered death... And i was in the 4th chapter... It talks about how Peter and John were in front of the council and the council (the bad guys) were trying to convict and discipline them for HEALING AN OLD MAN! Yet... they couldnt because the HOLY SPIRIT came upon them and gave them the words to speak! Gooood stuff right there! I bet Peter and John just looked at eachother and smiled knowing that God did work on them boys! Good is great! But the real reason im writing haha (i know loooong intro) was verses 23 to 31 talking about how they prayed for BOLDNESS! Its a scary thing to do..wanting to be bold and everything.. BUT God has called us to be bold for his glory! The challenge is to ask for that boldness and then carry through! like a good shot in basketball... or golf... it's all about the FOLLOW THROUGH! you can ask for stuff all day long but if you just let it sit there and not doing anything with it.... what does that make it??? WORTHLESS!! So lets rise up and be bold!! SHARE WHAT GOD HAS DONE IN YOUR LIFE!! Like PETER AND JOHN SAID "...for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard" LETSSSS DO IT PEEPS!!!

Hallejuer!!

Hello friends! Tonight as I was spending some quality time with my family, watching “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” (a Tyler Perry movie a.k.a MADEA!), Madea said a comment in the movie that hit me in the heart tonight. Madea was talking to the young girl struggling with self-worth, who’s name was Jennifer. Jennifer said, “I don’t have any nice clothes to make me look good.” Madea fires back, “Clothes don’t make you look good, they make you broke!” I laughed hard at first, but then truly thought about what it meant. Madea was right. A lot of girls today, including myself, struggle with self-worth, beauty, etc. We get so caught up in the newest fashion, the best haircut, or the most expensive purse to make us feel beautiful. We seek the compliments of other people to make us some item of beauty instead of God’s beautiful creation. 1 Peter 3:3-4 states, “Let your beauty not be external – the braiding of hair and wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes – but the inner person of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.” Wow. Our lasting beauty is not our outward appearance, but our heart and spirit, which God holds to be precious! He looks at our heart, our love, our fear for Him. He has made us in his image and He has made us beautiful and unique. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." - 1 Samuel 16:7

My challenge to you and to myself is to let your heart shine and not your outward beauty. Your self-worth is not a comparison of other beautiful people and what they have, that you may not have, but your self-worth is in Jesus Christ!
God has made you beautiful! Smile, you have a beautiful one.

One beautiful love,

Katie

Let the Redeemed of the Lord Say So!

Go grab your Bible and check out Psalm 107:2. Have you ever thought about this verse?  It's actually a command. If we've been redeemed by the Lord we are to say so. Why is that so hard for us? Maybe you deal with insecurity. Maybe you feel like your testimony isn't "dynamic". Or maybe you're not sure how your testimony could ever be used by the Lord. I've wrestled with all of those personally in my walk. But the truth is, God's Word says that "the testimony of the saints is powerful." You don't have to be a meth-addicted prostitute rescued off the streets to have a powerful testimony. Just like you don't have to be a 6 year old little boy saved in your Sunday School class. They are all powerful, because they are our stories! No one can ever take away what God has done in your life, or what He is doing.

The beauty of it all, is that as long as we are alive, our story is still being written. God is still at work, and His ways are higher than our ways. So be encouraged my friends, God is blessed by what you have to say. What He has done in you, is what leads others to Him.

So make a stand today, that you're no longer going to listen to the enemy's lies. But you are going to stand up, and shout out that you are redeemed. More importantly though, live it. Because it's not just what we say with our mouths, it's said best with our lives!

Live it to the fullest..........One Love.
